What a weekend. At this moment I am wordless. Lack of sleep and sensory over stimulation has taken away anything or all I could say about the last three very full day. The bride and groom are happy, the toasts at the rehearsal dinner were terrific - how many articulate, witty folks can you gather in one spot? Here are Caroline, Jeanne, Mary B and cousin Tanner with the bride and groom.
The wedding ceremony was idiosyncratic and again had many funny family moments, including crawl-away Anna who almost out staged the wedding vows.
The reception and dinner at Brennan's were elegant. Cauliflower and baked brie cream soup followed by salad and an entree of beef smothered with mushrooms and a sides of crab cakes and cornbread pudding. Oh, and then the banana foster and wedding cake. And champagne. The cakes story deserves it very own post. It's complicated and too late at night to recount now.
Loved seeing my brother John dance with Carrie and seeing him wave to those two little cousins from Seattle who were both just itching to get on the dance floor too. Oh, that after dinner dancing was high energy.More good food and lots of conversation at John and Trish's family brunch this morning. And there on the patio was a two-man steel band. Lots of leftover wedding cakes too, all made by Carrie Made the Cake. That would be the bride's very own cake business. Of course, she'd made her own wedding cake and several more besides.
