Kathie and I were in Louisiana a week ago this morning. Left New Orleans in the morning for a short trip to Slidell to meet the man who created that beautiful tableau of houses on the corner of Race & Religious Streets where we stayed. This same man 'loaned' an old ramshackle house to a group of artists who've engineered a wacky tree house in the back yard. That was fun to see - and to climb on.
Thought I'd show a few more photos taken of Race & Religious and places we visited in and around the French Quarter. Even the sidewalks in New Orleans seemed to me to have interesting patterns. Rain down spouts were fanciful, in this case, an open mouthed fish.
And then there's that wonderful compound of houses filled with flights of imagination and saints and probably sinners. Finally, there is the bridge that spans the Mississippi River that we can all lit up at night see from the front balcony. It was a very good trip.
